Our Club's History In Brief and Our vision
From humble beginnings the club started with an idea by a few of our founding members who met regularly at the Redland Bay Hotel. With support from hotel management the R.B.A.F.C fishing club was born and for many years was based within the hotel itself.
Over time the club grew in membership to the extent that members were able to purchased foreshore land at Redland Bay, where the present Club house now stands and the club is now based. The club fished mainly in the Moreton Bay and Offshore areas and became active within the community, promoting the sport of recreational boating and fishing generally, but also in promoting our local businesses, the Redlands Shire, and the beauty of Moreton Bay itself.
The Logo represents crossed fishing hooks over a bay snapper.
The Club's Vision
To be recognized in South East Queensland as a leading family fishing club.
The Club's Mission
* Promote the sport of fishing to members and the wider community.
* To be an environmentally responsible fishing club.
* Provide opportunities for all participants to be involved in club events regardless of race, religion, gender, or religious beliefs.
Our Club House
Our Club house is situated on a large block of foreshore land at Redland Bay. The club house contains a kitchen, storage rooms, meeting room, BBQ and toilet facilities. The building and surrounding land offers a great venue for our functions and is utilized by our club members. The complex is also hired out to the general public for private functions.
Club House Expansion
The members seek funding in various ways from local meat trays sold at the Redland Bay Hotel, Sausage Sizzle BBQs held at Bunnings, funding from government institutions and donations from sponsors. Being a non for profit organization monies raised are used to
improve club facilities and help finance community focused fishing events.
